Desert Racer…85 Suburban new motor 4×4 runs fine – $800
Friday, January 20th, 2006Desert Racer…’89 Mazda “the Maz-Dog” Smoking Red Pick ‘er Up – $1000
Thursday, January 19th, 2006This smoking Ferrari red mini pick-up is a guaranteed head turner.
I bought this truck a month ago because I needed a vehicle to help with my move while I was in between cars but now I am now in need of a newer model with less miledge as I travel a lot. She is a good truck and has been kept in excellent shape by previous owners. Has about 206k miles on it. I wish I could keep her but as I said, I travel every week throughout Texas and Ok. The only negative deal is that when it starts first thing in the morning or after not have been driven for a while, it lets out a white cloud of smoke, but that does NOT effect any other engine functions. As well as moving my furnituer and city travel, I have also taken her San Antonio and she behaved. Cash. Can be easily modified into a M1 tank, cargo plane, or pirate ship. This baby won’t last long, don’t miss this smokin red-hot oppurtunity. Serious inquirys only. in process of photo shot, will send on request.

Monday, January 9th, 2006… And Don’t Forget
Monday, January 9th, 2006Desert Racers for Dummies
Monday, January 9th, 2006Alright, let’s suppose I’m on the lookout for a desert racer but know very little about cars. It’s a stretch, I know. But let’s say I find a $250 1989 Ford Escort wagon that’s in fairly decent shape all around. It runs, at least three of the doors open, and all of the windows roll down. What are the main things I need to do to transform it from clunky road warrior into full blown desert racer, without passing the $1000 limit?
Tires, shocks, safety features, etc.?
Desert Racer…1984 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3 *reduced* – $600

2.3L I4 gas, auto. european version (imported in 2003 from germany). odometer stoped at 149xxx miles about 2 months ago and ive only put about 2K miles on it since then, red exterior with tan/ black leather interior. AMG body kit and AMG 16″ wheels. New pioneer CD and speakers. good fuel economy

The good: New engine gaskets, new spark plugs and wires, new cap and rotor, new fan and fan shroud, great interior shape no tears in seats, 2 new tires and 2 fairly new tires, new exhaust, new front brake rotors and pads, have new rear brake rotors and pads but not installed. i have just rigged ther PCV to recycle back into the intake so the car doesnt produce smoke anymore.

The bad: engine vibrates at higher rpm (ive been told its the motor mounts), a/c works but condenser fan is not wired up and im sure it needs a recharge, has trouble starting somtimes (rarly it takes a few cranks, the battery doesnt have enough cranking amps for this car), driver’s side windows have trouble working (needs window regulator/ motor), it has a noisy lifter but somtimes its quiet and somtimes its noisy.

all of this stuff doesnt impare on the vehicle’s perfomance at all, just minor problems that make it “unatractive”
This started as a project and became a daily driver for the last 6 months (40 miles a day) but im going back to school and need some money. It runs and drives right now but the motor makes noises at higher rpm which may be anoying for to people. Also the black wheel in the pic is now white like the rest, it used to have black painted wheels but i took off the paint. Car runs great though and i havnt had any problems with it since i bought it.
Asking $600.

Desert Racer…91 Pontiac Grand AM…$800
Sunday, January 8th, 200691 Pontiac Grand AM—This car needs some work. It’s running but loud because of a seal that broke on the catalytic converter. The interior is almost perfect but the paint is chipping in parts on the roof of the car. It also has some minor dents but would be perfect starter car.

1985 Chevrolet Pickup. This truck is a C-10 Custom Deluxe. I purchased the truck about a year ago to have as a project. The truck originally came with a 262 V-6. That engine was pulled and a 305 V-8 was put in its place.

The transmission is a 3 speed, that was originally a 3-on-the-tree (column shift) that was converted to a Hurst 3-speed on the floor.

I had some pretty nice plans for the truck, but I have landed a new job that leaves me no time for anything. I start it every other day and will drive it around the block to keep her running. She fires right up on a dime, every time! Again, this was strictly a project truck and will still need some work to get her in “TOP” running condition. As it stands, the truck appears to run pretty well but will need some TLC and some minor tuning. As for the exterior, well she isn’t much of a looker. This was to be the last thing that I was going to work on. The body isn’t in that bad of shape considering it is 20 years old. The passenger side door has a dent, but it does not disturb the use of the door or the locking mechanism. The roof also has a dent, but isn’t really noticeable. The front bumper on one side in the corner is bent out a little, although I don’t see that as a priority. The paint is a light blue color that is faded and some surface rust is on the truck. All of the electrical components on the truck work. The lights/blinkers/wipers and even has a cheap stereo with some speakers. I recently custom installed new Oil/Temp/Voltage gauges into the exhisting area where the old crappy gauges where before, that also light up at night when lights are turned on. This truck I think would be great as a farm truck or even just to tote around town.

I have replaced several different parts (mainly because it was required for the swap). New starter, fuel pump, Radiator fan, various hoses, clutch line, etc. New chrome air cleaner and chrome oil pan.
Performance Parts: Well, as far as performance parts goes, this truck actually has a few. The intake manifold is an aluminum edelbrock performer. On top of that sits a 4 barrel Holley (650 I believe). For the exhaust, I installed some flowtech long tube headers that exit out to dual Purple horny mufflers. The Tx. inspection on the truck is good till Feburary.
That’s all I can think of for now, please email me with any questions.
If you want to come by and look or even drive the truck, please email me.
$1000 Firm. I have put too much money and time to go any lower than this.
